Mr. Russell Lyle Vaughn, Uncle Pat's dad, passed away during the night at a hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Vaughn was taken by ambulence to the hospital last night for chest pain and breathing difficulty. His wife, Mary Alice, stayed by his side and finally told him, "Lyle it's okay if you want to go home and be with God." With that, he closed his eyes and shortly went to the Lord.
Please be in prayer for the entire Vaughn family as they face difficult decisions, make preparations for the funeral, and travel from all over the country. Joy, who was visiting her dad in Tupelo for his birthday this weekend, and Pat have already left for Las Vegas. Jeff, Heather, and kids just arrived in Atlanta from Beligum this evening and were notified immediately about their Grandpa. Jeff has been asked to officiate the funeral. Services are to be held sometime later this week in Las Vegas.
Mr. Vaughn is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; his children, Peter, Pat, and Nancy; eight grandchildren, Nellie, Katie, Pete, Jeff, Rob, Joy, Lauren, and Daniel; six great-grandchildren, Gracey, Betsy, Sammy, Jonah, and Gabe; and two great-grandchildren on the way. What a legacy!
