Dale was released from the hospital in Monterey this past weekend. The doctor overseeing his case gave the okay for Dale to travel home before getting the double bypass because his circumstances were unusual (perfect blood pressure upon admittance to the hospital and evidence of his arteries being blocked for a long time previous to the heart event last week).
Dale and Lucy are looking into a procedure currently exclusive to a hospital in Odessa, Texas that involves orthoscopic bypasses with a one week recovery. They spent today packing up Dale's Monterey apartment and plan to take a flight back to Chattanooga tomorrow with a layover on the way just in case Dale's heart is not up to the long journey. Yesterday Dale and Lucy celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Dale's church threw a surprise anniversary luncheon for the two who have not been together on an anniversary since 2001.
